Fantasy Football News - Pittsburgh Steelers franchise quarterback, Ben Roesthlisberger has officially been ruled OUT along with his backup Byron Leftwich. That leaves veteran Steeler, Charlie Batch to start on the road in Baltimore for week 13.
FFLockerRoom Take - This is not good for Big Ben owners who were hoping to get him back for that final week before playoffs. In really deep leagues it’s tough when your #1 QB goes down. If I had to get someone in such a league, take a look at Brandon Weeden. He’s matched up versus the Raiders, and Oakland can make a lot of bad teams/players look much better.
As for the rest of the Steelers. The only one I’m starting with any sort of confidence is Jonathan Dwyer. He’s played well when asked to carry the load this season and the Ravens D can give up good chunks on the ground. The receivers with Batch under center will get a huge downgrade, making them flex players at best. Same goes for Heath Miller who was having a great year till Ben went out. I do however like the Steelers D to keep it close. Looks like they might even have Troy Polamalu back…
On the other side of the ball, it’s time to roll with the Ravens D once more. You already were excited they get to play at home, but now you are jubilant at the idea of playing the Steelers one more time without Big Ben in the pocket. No one in the NFL can shed would-be tacklers like Ben. Charlie Batch is going to have his hands full in Baltimore and it will not be pretty.
