Fantasy Football News -Updating a previous item from the Fantasy Football Junkie, Mike Tomlin said Ben “was able to make all the necessary throws” and showed “good velocity” on his passes. It has been confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Big Ben is expected to make the start this weekend, and although he’s not 100%, he is ready to go back out there. He also notes the Steelers have a 14-0 regular season home record against the Chargers.
FF LockerRoom Take – Like FFJ said a couple days ago, this is an immediate upgrade to the Steelers running game and the receivers, Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace. This probably helps Brown a little more, thanks to some questions still regarding his arm strength. I’m not sure he’ll be able to get the ball downfield to Mike Wallace effectively, which makes him a risky play, but he is startable now, where he wasn’t for the last few weeks with Charlie Batch at the helm.
I don’t think I would start Roethlisberger this week, but like I said as well as FFJ, this presents an immediate upgrade to the players around him.
