Fantasy Football News – Cecil Shorts Ruled OUT For Week 14

Fantasy Football News - The Jacksonville Jaguars have ruled OUT Cecil Shorts for their week 14 contest after suffering a concussion in the previous game. He was still experiencing concussion symptoms at mid-week, so his availability for week 15 should be considered questionable also.

FFLockerRoom Take - This is a big blow to teams that road Cecil Shorts to the playoffs. That makes the rookie Justin Blackmon the #1 and likely makes Kevin Elliott the #2 on Sunday. Up against the Jets, I’m not touching any Jaguar at this point. If I had to play one, it would be Marcedes Lewis. He’s arguably their best target and Blackmon will probably be seeing a lot of Antonio Rodgers-Cromartie. Antonio isn’t the best CB in the league but he’s still really good. And with Justin being a rookie, I don’t think he stands a chance against the physical play of Cromartie.

This also doesn’t help Chad Henne. He might have been an option in deep leagues, but without Shorts his value takes a huge hit.

Also ruled OUT for the game, but was expected, Rashad Jennings. His replacement will be Montell Owens… who’s ready to play with fire? Owens might not be a great option but he’s sure to see lots of work. And don’t be surprised to see full back Greg Jones get a few more touches.
