Fantasy Football News – Fantasy owners were counting on a healthy Nicks to show up for the playoffs and news on Thursday was that Nicks did not practice due to a sore knee. After practicing on Wednesday, it was a bit of a surprise to learn he wasn’t on the field Thursday. Every one can take a sigh of relief, Nicks was back on the practice field for the Giants on Friday.
FFLockerRoom Take – When I saw that Hakeem Nicks was not at practice on Wednesday, I was not shocked. It’s pretty common for the Giants to rest Nicks during the week to manage his injuries so he’s ready for Sunday. Knowing he is back at practice today is a great sign he should be good-to-go for Sunday. He hasn’t been that great since coming back, but he’s still Eli’s number one receiver and should see plenty of targets. If you have him, you are most likely starting him.
If by chance he were to miss this game. It would most likely mean that Domenik Hixon starts in his place and Rueben Randle would slide in as the 3rd receiver. Hixon has missed the past three games with an ankle injury but is expected back, and isn’t listed on the injury report.
