Fantasy Football News – Popular fantasy tight end, Brandon Pettigrew, was not at practice Thursday marking the second straight day he has missed. Pettigrew suffered a leg injury in the week 14 loss to the Packers. At this point it is time to look for an alternative for week 15 if you were counting on Pettigrew for your playoff roster.
FFLockerRoom Take – This is a big blow to Pettigrew owners but I argue that it helps absolutely everyone else on the Detroit Lions roster. Pettigrew had been terrible this year, dropping passes, fumbling passes and all out not hustling! Ok so maybe that last part was a bit harsh. But I’m a Lions fan and I can’t help it. I think Pettigrew not being there helps Stafford throw it more to guys that can catch the ball. Guys like Calvin Johnson and Tony Scheffler and um… oh yeah, Broyles, Young and Burleson are all on IR. So maybe it’s not great news for Stafford, but at least I don’t have to watch him on the field. Just chuck it up to Megatron more and we should be fine!
Personally though, I really like Tony Scheffler in this game against the Cardinals. He’s sure to get a lot of targets and the Cardinals gave up some huge plays to the Seahawks TE’s in week 14. In very deep leagues it’s possible that Stafford’s college buddy Kris Durham even becomes a factor down the stretch. I talked about him a bit in this weeks Waiver Wire article.
