Fantasy Football News - Green Bay Packers running back, Alex Green and James Starks, both have not practiced this week. For different reasons, the Pack’s two leading rushers on the season have not been able to take the practice field leading up to the week 16 matchup with the Titans. This leaves the running back duties to newly signed Ryan Grant, rookie DuJuan Harris and veteran John Kuhn.
FFLockerRoom Take - Just when Alex Green was starting to look ok, he goes down with a concussion and is likely not going to play in the week 16 game versus the Titans at home. This likely means that the Packers will lean on a combination of Ryan Grant and DuJuan Harris. I personally would love to see what DuJuan Harris can bring to the table given a bigger workload but my gut tells me that Ryan Grant will get the start and the majority of carries. Coach Mike McCarthy trusts Grant and didn’t hold the fumble he had last week against him. Even after the fumble he still went with Grant in the final moments handing him the ball four times in the second half of the fourth quarter.
For the most part, this is a situation to avoid. Don’t try to get cute. It’s very possible that the Packers go up big and early and let the rookie DuJuan Harris carry the load in the second half but that’s not the kind of luck you want to play with at this stage of the fantasy game. With that said, my running back rankings reflect Grant as the starter and Harris as the main backup.
