Carson Palmer, QB, Oakland Raiders
FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
As far as Carson Palmer is concerned, 2012 was a successful return to being a solid NFL and fantasy football contributor as he passed for over 4,000 yards for the first time since 2007. On the down side, he did pass for only 22 touchdowns while getting picked off 14 times.
To make matters worse, Palmer is due a $13,000,000 salary and while admitting that he will have competition come 2013 training camp, Dennis Allen still believes Palmer will be the starter.
So the Oakland Raiders don’t want to pay his salary, are so enamored with Palmer that they are giving him training camp competition yet he is still their starter? Something smells fishy here and it makes me believe that even if he is slotted to throw the pigskin around this fall, Palmer will be nothing more than a low-end QB2 or waiver wire prospect.
Don’t waste anything more than a late round pick to take a flyer on this former fantasy star.
