Brent Celek, TE, Philadelphia Eagles
FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
After putting up over 2,400 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns the previous three seasons, Brent Celek of the Philadelphia Eagles was expected to enjoy his best season yet. But his sixth season definitely was not one of his finest.
Celek caught 57 passes for 684 yards, both of which are solid for average tight ends, but having only caught one touchdown pass the entire year was a bit head scratching. He hadn’t put up that low of a number since his second season in the NFL.
It is very possible that Celek will bounce back and play as a low-end TE1, high-end TE2 in deeper fantasy leagues come 2013 but calm your expectations some. Andy Reid has left the building and there is no knowing how the new coaching staff will utilize the tight end in their new offensive scheme. Draft Celek in the latter part of your draft as a backup if need be in hopes of finding a diamond out of this possible piece of coal.
