FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
Bryce Brown is officially a handcuff to LeSean McCoy headed into 2013.
Or is he?
With new coach Chip Kelly, things could get interesting in Philly. He’s a guy who really likes to run the ball and has utilized multiple backs in College at Oregon. If he decides to flip the system in Philadelphia to a run oriented offense where they run more often than throw, maybe Brown will have some actual fantasy value in deeper leagues. It’s not out of the question to see him getting around 10 carries a game if that does occur. And in 2012, where we saw Brown break off a back-to-back fantasy explosion in two games, maybe that’s enough work for him to be relevant. But lets also remember that this guy is still very raw and needs to work on his ball handling and blocking. If he can’t figure those two things out he will not make it long in the NFL.
I don’t think he’s a guy that needs to be drafted early based on upside but should be taken by a McCoy owner or someone who just wants to mess with said owner. Either way I’m totally fine with it.
