FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS

The much hyped Beanie Wells killer, Ryan Williams, just hasn’t gotten on the field enough to consider really taking in drafts at this point. Last season, you saw a ton of owners take him thinking he was ready to go after missing out on his rookie season due to an injury he suffered during preseason. But after only a few games, it was once again time for him to go on injured reserve.

After the Cardinals let Beanie Wells go, Ryan Williams emerged once again as the favorite to lead the RB platoon for new coach Bruce Arians. But after the signing of Bruce’s old friend from Pittsburgh, Rashard Mendenhall, that all changed very quickly. On the surface, the Cardinals are likely to say this is an open competition but between me and you, Mendenhall has this in the bag.

Rashard is a very good player and Arians knows his strengths and weaknesses. Mendenhall is also now a full year removed from his ACL injury that caused him to miss the first half of 2012.

All that aside, Ryan Williams is probably the more talented back. If Arians can keep him healthy who knows how good he could be. Just look at what he got out of Vick Ballard in Indianapolis last season. Williams is a much more talented back, but staying on the field is the tougher part.

Will he?

Can he?
