Josh Gordon, WR, Cleveland Browns
FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
Josh Gordon was the big play man for the Browns last year and at times, the only option for rookie QB Brandon Weeden. He racked up 50 catches for 805 yards and 5 touchdowns while compiling 16.1 ypc. The future sure looks great for Gordon, considering last year was his rookie year.
Gordon is a tall, fast receiver who has a knack for getting open down the field. I really like the guy throwing to him, Weeden, but I’m not sure the Browns do as well. Regardless of who is throwing the ball next year, a few constants will remain. They are going to pound the ball with Trent Richardson in the running game and open it up by taking some shots with Josh Gordon. When it’s not there, Greg Little is running across the middle picking up those types of catches.
Gordon has some uncertainty heading into next year, but he is easily worth harboring as a low-end WR3. He has tremendous upside, especially if Weeden can figure things out. Even if another QB comes in, the team is heading the right way on offense.
