Johnny Cueto Leaves Game As Cincinnati Reds Hold Breath

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Johnny Cueto was removed from Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates after suffering an injury that caused pain in his right triceps.

While the removal from the game was precautionary, he will be re-evaluated Sunday to see the actual extent of the injury.

Once we know that, the time table for his return will be better known. Until then the only thing that Reds fans can do is hold their breath.

In 2012 Cueto had a 19-9 record with a 2.78 earned run average over 217 innings pitched. Having struck out 170 while walking 49, he definitely made major strides in becoming a complete starting pitcher and one of the Reds best mound presences.
