Green Bay Packers Waive ILB D.J. Smith

NFL News: The Green Bay Packers have waived ILB D.J. Smith. Even though Smith tore his ACL in October of 2012, he had played well for the Packers in 9 starts and was even touted as being one of the most underrated players on the defense. This move is kind of shocking but also may spell worries for Smith’s knee and it’s possible that he’s dealing with complications coming back from the injury.

Even still, he’s likely to get another shot and get signed quickly. There are always teams looking for solid linebackers to help shore up run support and Smith is still just 24 years old.

Fantasy Ramifications: Even though D.J. Smith holds no fantasy value currently, if given the right opportunity, he could be someone to watch down the road in IDP leagues.
