1.27 Houston Texans DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson, (6-1, 214)
Andre Johnson has publicly stated that the Texans need to stop beating around the bush and get a receiver on the opposite side of the field to open things up. The Texans answered the call and grabbed a great athlete in Hopkins.
Hopkins is an athletic receiver that doesn’t really have any specific weaknesses. He can run the short, intermediate and long routes with solid hands and a plus play making ability. Personally, I love Hopkins and I think he could end up being one of the next elite receivers in the NFL. He could add a few more pounds, but should be able to make an immediate impact for the Texans and gives them the solid WR2 option they’ve been looking for since the team’s inception into the league.
