Jacksonville Jaguars Select John Cyprien In Second Round

2.1 Jacksonville Jaguars John Cyprien, FS, Florida International (6-0, 217)

With the first pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected free safety John Cyprien from Florida International. Bringing strength, playing up to size , solid tackler with a good motor, he utilizes his strength to wreak havoc on opposing offenses, especially when allowed to play within his zone. While not the quickest or tallest, he is very aggressive and sometimes over plays and makes bad decisions. Lacks good feet and does not make up well for his mistakes, but receivers and running backs will remember him because he hits extremely hard. He will need his good football intelligence to outshine his deficiencies if he wants to make an impact for Jacksonville.
