1.29 Minnesota Vikings Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee (6-2, 216)
Cordarrelle Patterson was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 29th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. The Vikings traded back into the 1st round with the Patriots to acquire this pick giving them a total of three 1st round picks on the day. In taking Patterson they continued to upgrade their wide receiving core. He gives them an explosive weapon on the outside that will help fill the void that was left when they traded Percy Harvin to Seattle. With Patterson only having one year of Division 1 college football under his belt he is still raw and needs to work on his route running but his athletic ability will allow him to contribute while he’s learning. I look for Patterson to nail down the WR2 duties opposite Greg Jennings and be a big contributor as a return man his rookie year.
