New York Jets Have Signed UDFA Tight End Mike Shanahan

With Dustin Keller now in Miami, the New York Jets have a big hole to fill at tight end. It was a bit of a surprise to me that they didn’t spend a draft pick on a tight end but after stealing Geno Smith in the second round, they took offensive lineman with their next three selections.

Mike Shanahan has a chance to make the team just based on being with the right team at the right time. Currently the #1 TE listed for the Jets is fellow undrafted player Jeff Cumberland.

Fantasy Spin: I could see a scenario where Shanahan emerges as the #1 TE option at some point this year but that’s not saying much. I also expect the Jets to sign a veteran TE at some point to help fill the void.
