New England Patriots Select OLB Jamie Collins in 2013 NFL Draft

2.20 New England Patriots Jamie Collins, OLB, Southern Miss (6-3, 250)

Jamie Collins, a senior out of Southern Miss, should be used as a rotational linebacker in his first year. He has excellent speed and can close quickly. He’s also very good at getting after the quarterback.

We expect that the Patriots would like to use Collins primarily in passing situations to help rush the QB. He could convert to defensive end if the Pats move to a 4-3 look. As a pure linebacker, he does tackle well but can get pushed around some by blockers.
