Colts Center A.Q. Shipley Traded To Ravens

The Indianapolis Colts have traded Center A.Q. Shipley to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a conditional 2014 draft pick.

The Ravens were looking for camp competition at the center because longtime C Matt Birk retired this off-season. The Ravens drafted Geno Gradkowski in the fourth round a year ago to take Birk’s place but GM Ozzie Newsome would like to give him incentive to keep training hard.

Shipley did well in limited action for the Colts last season, and could be a great move for the Ravens offensive line. He could also shift to guard if they needed him to.
