2.15 Dallas Cowboys Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego St., (6-6,254)
After the Cowboys floundered away their first pick and turned it into a center with a third round grade, it looks like they reached for a tight end with their second pick, taking the third tight end of the draft. Escobar is a great pass catcher, presumably they’re hoping to develop him into the replacement for Jason Witten. Escobar is a great route runner with good hands, but isn’t going to get you any yards after the catch. He also isn’t a blocker, but that likely won’t be a huge concern as he’ll be splitting out wide for the majority of his snaps in Dallas.
