The New York Yankees were busy today as they purchased the contract of second baseman David Adams from their Triple-A Scranton/Wiles-Barre minor league affiliate. To make room for Adams the organization decided to option infielder Corban Joseph to the same farm club. Adams will provide infield depth for the banged up New York club.

In an unrelated move, the Yankees have also decided to designate infielder Chris Nelson for assignment. For Nelson to remain in the system he will have to clear the waiver process.
