The New Orleans Saints have waived 2011 7th round draft pick DE Greg Romeus. Romeus tore his right ACL during his final year at Pittsburgh and then tore his left ACL/MCL during 2012 OTA’s. He’s never made it to an NFL game but could mount a comeback if he has it in him. It’s not easy to bounce back from these types of injuries in back-to-back years but not impossible.

The Saints were also not willing to wait on Romeus to recover because he doesn’t fit well with their new 3-4 scheme. If he makes it back next season, it’s likely to be with a team employing a 4-3.
