Toronto Blue Jays Designate 1B Clint Robinson, Other News

The Toronto Blue Jays have decided to designate first baseman Clint Robinson for assignment after hitting a light .270 with four home runs in 47 games this year at the Triple-A level this season.

This move wasn’t made because the Blue Jays have lost faith in the young third baseman, but rather because they needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster.

He will have to clear waivers and accept an assignment to return to the Toronto organization.

Other News: In other news, the Toronto Blue Jays have recalled right-handed reliever Todd Redmond from Triple-A Las Vegas, purchased the contract of left-handed reliever Juan Perez from Triple-A Buffalo and have also purchased the contract of right-handed reliever Neil Wagner from Triple-A Buffalo.
