Eric Chavez‘ best days are long behind him, but he keeps finding ways to stay on the field for various teams. However, he’s going to be on the shelf for at least a couple of weeks with a right oblique strain. Chavez is a notoriously “slow healer” so he could be out a little longer than fans hope. So far this year, he’s helped the D-Backs get off to a nice start by posting a .325/.368/.588 split in 114 ABs. He also has 7 dingers with 25 RBI and a .956 OPS. Martin Prado should take Chavez’ place in the lineup at third base.
