Yesterday the Buffalo Bills released backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. When the Bills released 2012 starter Ryan Fitzpatrick, it was thought that Jackson would compete for the starting job with Kevin Kolb but everything changed when they drafted E.J. Manuel as the first QB taken in the draft. Manuel must have shown enough during OTA’s for the Bills to feel comfortable releasing Jackson.
Tarvaris enters a thin market of quarterbacks in free agency and is likely the new best option available to teams. Not many are looking for arms at this point but I’m sure someone will bring him in for a look soon. He shouldn’t be on the market too long and is a lot more talented than many of the backups in the league.
