The Arizona Diamondbacks made a move to bolster their bullpen as they have recalled left-handed reliever Eury De La Rosa from their Triple-A Reno minor league farm club. The 23-year-old has struggled this season, posting a pretty high 5.14 ERA but does have solid strike out totals, averaging just slightly more than one per inning.
To make room for Rosa, the Diamondbacks in a corresponding move optioned left-handed starter Tyler Skaggs to High-A ball. This is not believed to be a permanent move, but rather to keep his schedule going. Skaggs should be recalled as soon as it is his turn in the Arizona rotation.
