San Francisco 49ers Sign CB Eric Wright

The San Francisco 49ers have signed cornerback Eric Wright, whom they traded for and released a few weeks back, to a one-year deal and have placed him on the non-football injury/illness list. In a corresponding move, the organization waived cornerback Lowell Rose.

Tunnel Vision: Wright, who is dealing with a personal matter, failed his physical a few weeks back after having been traded for and was consequently released.  The fact that he is close to returning to football bodes well as San Francisco recently lost their top backup in Chris Culliver after he tore his ACL a week ago.

Look for Wright to compete for a sop with Nnamdi Asomugha, Perrish Cox and Tramaine Brock for playing time behind their starters. This move has no fantasy football impact.
