The San Francisco 49ers have re-signed vaunted special teams man, Kassim Osgood. He is listed as a wide receiver but sparingly plays on offense. He is labeled an ace on special teams and has been in the NFL since 2003. Over his ten-year career, he’s only missed 10 games and played all 16 last year with the Detroit Lions.
Osgood was probably signed because the 49ers designated ILB Nick Moody to injured reserve. Moody can return but not until week 11 and he was mainly a special teams player.
