Colts TE Dwayne Allen Goes On Injured Reserve

It wasn’t all good news for the Indianapolis Colts today. They put tight end Dwayne Allen on injured reserve because of a hip injury. Allen came into 2013 as the tight end with the most upside in Indy but will end his season with just one catch for 20 yards and a touchdown. There is no word yet on whether or not the Colts believe he’ll be ready for camp in 2014.

For fantasy owners, it’s safe to say that Coby Fleener is going to be a top waiver pickup in the coming days. If not already owned, he should be picked up in all 12+ team leagues. While he’s not the overall player that Allen is, he’s got good speed and still has built-in chemistry with fellow Stanford Cardinal Andrew Luck. Last week with Allen missing, Fleener had a good game with 4 receptions on 8 targets that went for 69 yards and a score.
