Rob Gronkowski Likely OUT for Week 5, Danny Amendola Travels

For his owners, many thought this was the week they would be able to deploy superstar TE Rob Gronkoswki. Looks like you and I will have to wait at least one more week. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on his twitter account that the New England Patriots TE did not travel with the team for the road game with the Cincinnati Bengals. Earlier in the week, the Patriots released preseason sleeper Zach Sudfeld which many thought was a good sign for Rob’s return to the field but apparently not.

On a bright note for Tom Brady and the offense, he might get back WR Danny Amendola. Schefter also reported that Danny did make the trip and is still questionable to play. At this point, he will be a game-time decision but I think he plays. The Patriots could have easily kept him home if they didn’t think he was ready. If Amendola plays, this could significantly hurt Julian Edelman‘s value going forward. At least until Amendola gets hurt again, which is almost a certainty anymore.
