In a not-so-surprising move, the Oakland Raiders have released quarterback Matt Flynn. Flynn, who was traded to Oakland from Seattle, was a disappointment from the moment he arrived. He never looked like more than a backup and was brutal in his one start in replace of Terrelle Pryor.
But don’t feel bad for Flynn who banked around 6.5 million dollars guaranteed this season. RotoWorld speculated after the release that Flynn could possibly head back to Green Bay where Aaron Rodgers is still without a quality backup. And for Matt, this would be the best option. He tried to be a starter, it failed, so time to own up and go home. It’s a good life being the backup to Aaron Rodgers. And you never know, in Green Bay you might even resurrect one of those ridiculous performances that got you the big money in the first place.
