Here we are going to take a closer look at the target breakdown for the wide receivers in week 5. Sure if you get 10+ targets in a game it’s a great thing, but what you do with those targets matters the most to us fantasy owners. Below I have a list of the WR’s who got 8+ targets last week. I gathered each players number of receptions and then divided it by the number of targets he received to get the players catch rate percentage. Then to get a closer look I took the players receiving yards and divided that number by his number of targets to find out who makes the most out of the amount of targets they get.
This week we had 30 wide receivers with 8+ targets in the NFL. We won’t find Mike Wallace complaining this week as he led the league with 16 targets, catching 7 of them for 105 giving him an average of 6.6 YpT. The league average this week for YpT was 8.3 among the wide receivers with Alshon Jeffery posting the best with an average of 16.8. Over the last 3 weeks Jeffery has been pretty impressive catching 22 of his 32 targets for 376 yards and 2 TD’s. It’s not looking like Chicago is a 1 WR town anymore.
After he had a strong game against the Seahawks Andre Johnson owners were optimistic about his match up with the 49ers. Johnson let them down as he was only able to haul in 3 of his 1o targets for 39 yards. His 30% catch rate was the lowest among the wide receivers this week with 8+ targets.
Below you will find week 5’s list. Hope you enjoy!
