Owners of Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts have been very accustomed to checking practice reports during the season. Shorts has been dealing with a groin injury the past couple of weeks but has continued to play through it. Thus far, he has played pretty well despite the groin and his terrible team. Much of it has come in junk-time, but for fantasy, that is more than ok.
After going through a limited practice on Wednesday, something not uncommon, Shorts was downgraded to OUT for Thursday’s practice. We do not know the reason for the downgrade as of yet, but if it’s because of the groin, that would not be a good sign. Anytime a player is downgraded mid-week, it’s a bad sign for his availability for that weeks game. Of course if he comes back to practice on Friday, it will likely mean he is ok.
Just something to watch, because going up against the Broncos this week, it could yield some big junk-time stats for him and his fellow WR Justin Blackmon.
