In the midst of a two-game losing streak, the Chicago Bears decided to go to the powers of two to defeat the New York Giants 27-21 Thursday night.
Quarterback Jay Cutler connected with wide receiver Brandon Marshall for two touchdowns while Tim Jennings intercepted Giants quarterback Eli Manning twice to bring the Bears to a 4-2 record, tied for tops in the NFC North although they would lose the tie-breaker to the Detroit Lions after a Week 4 loss at Ford Field.
Despite a solid game by New York Giants veteran running back Brandon Jacobs who ran for 106 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns of his own, the combination of offensive prowess and solid defense proved too much.
The loss brings New York to a hapless 0-6 record and almost certainty to a lost season.
