Here we are going to take a closer look at the target breakdown for running backs in week 7. With the NFL going to a more “air raid” approach dual threat running backs are becoming more popular across the NFL and a more viable option in fantasy football. Below I have a list of the RB’s who got 5+ targets this week . I gathered each players number of receptions and then divided it by the number of targets he received to get a the players catch rate percentage. Then to get a closer look I took the players receiving yards and divided that number by his number of targets to find out who makes the most out of the amount of targets they get.
This week we had 12 running backs in the NFL with 5+ targets. Jacquizz Rodgers led the way with 9 targets, catching 8 of them for 46 yards and 2 TD’s. Rodgers was the perfect example of the “new age” running backs in fantasy football as he was only able to muster 16 yards rushing on 8 carries but ended up as a top 8 scoring running back for the week in most scoring formats.
Jamaal Charles currently leads all running backs with 57 targets on the year, although his season low of 4 targets wasn’t good enough to make the list this week even though his 37 yards receiving was more than 8 peoples who made the cut.
Below you will find week 7′s list. Hope you enjoy!
