Here we are going to take a closer look at the target breakdown for the tight ends in week 7. Sure if you get 10+ targets in a game it’s a great thing, but what you do with those targets matters the most to us fantasy owners. Below I have a list of the TE’s who got 6+ targets this week . I gathered each players number of receptions and then divided it by the number of targets he received to get a the players catch rate percentage. Then to get a closer look I took the players receiving yards and divided that number by his number of targets to find out who makes the most out of the amount of targets they get.
This week we had 14 tight ends with 6+ targets in the NFL. Rob Gronkowski made his long awaited return and quickly reminded his fantasy owners why he was worth the wait, as he was targeted 17 times, catching 8 of them for 114 yards. The man known as “Gronk” will continue to see plenty of targets and is a sure fire TE 1 when healthy.
Jordan Reed is quickly becoming one of Robert Griffins favorite weapons. He caught all 9 of his targets for 134 yards and 1 TD on Sunday and with Fred Davis being a healthy scratch from the lineup, it looks like the job is all his.
Brandon Pettigrew cracked the list but put up a very Pettigrew like stat line being targeted 7 times, catching 3 of them for 3 yards. Pettigrew has proven time and again he can’t do much damage after the catch and is considered a low end TE 2 going forward.
Below you will find week 7′s list. Hope you enjoy!
