Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Williams is officially listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Williams has been limited by a hamstring strain for the last few weeks. Williams was a full participant in practice on Monday, limited on Tuesday, and full on Wednesday.
Injury Outlook: Williams was able to return to the lineup last week and caught 4 passes for 32 yards. The good news is that no reported setbacks occurred and he was able to fully participate in practice two days this week. He should continue to get up to speed, but this seems to still be a bit of an issue as he’s been dealing with this hamstring strain for almost two months now, on and off.
Don’t forget that Vincent Jackson had 22 targets last week, so the law of averages says that number has to come back down to earth. Williams would be next in line to get touches on the outside, especially with Doug Martin being out for this week’s game.
Williams and the Bucs have a tough matchup against a very stout Carolina defense, so I wouldn’t expect a monster performance out of Williams this week. Make sure to keep an eye on the Inactive list prior to the game, but it appears he is on pace to play this week.
