Here we are going to take a closer look at the target breakdown for the tight ends in week 9. Sure if you get 10+ targets in a game it’s a great thing, but what you do with those targets matters the most to us fantasy owners. Below I have a list of the TE’s who got 6+ targets this week . I gathered each players number of receptions and then divided it by the number of targets he received to get a the players catch rate percentage. Then to get a closer look I took the players receiving yards and divided that number by his number of targets to find out who makes the most out of the amount of targets they get.
This week we had 13 tight ends in the NFL with 6+ targets. Jimmy Graham led the way with 12 targets, catching 9 of them for 116 yards and 2 TD’s. Graham’s role increased this week and that nagging foot injury looks to be behind him going forward.
One week after frustrating his fantasy owners, Rob Gronkowski and himself a BIG bounce back week and shredded the Stealers secondary. The man known as “Gronk” caught 9 of his 10 targets for 143 yards and 1 TD.
Jordan Reed didn’t make this weeks list. He was only targeted 5 times, catching 4 of them for 37 yards. Reed looked to be in for a big game as he had two catches on the Redskins opening drive but was seldom used after. Going forward Reed is still a TE1 and there aren’t many I’d start over him on a weekly basis.
Below you will find week 9’s list. Hope you enjoy!
