Oakland QB Terrelle Pryor (knee) has been officially ruled out for Week 11 at Houston. The Raiders will now turn to undrafted rookie out of Penn State Matt McGloin. McGloin a former walk-on holds four passing records for Nittany Lions. He also received the Burlsworth trophy which is given to the most outstanding college football who started as a walk-on. McGloin draws the Houston Texans who have given the fewest passing yards in the NFL this season. He made his NFL debut against the Philadelphia Eagles on November 3rd. He was 7-for-15 passing for 87 yards in the 49-20 blowout loss to the Eagles, which saw Nick Foles tie an NFL record with 7 TD passes.

Oakland has also signed their 2013 fourth round pick Tyler Wilson out of Arkansas off the practice squad. Wilson could see action if McGloin falters or should Houston have a sizable lead in the second half. Wilson was thought to be a high draft pick after his stellar junior year with the Razorbacks. He opted to return to school for his senior year. His stats took a slight step back and his stock followed. He does hold 29 records at Arkansas.

McGloin out-dueled Wilson for a spot on the active roster in training camp. Oakland released veteran illusionist Matt Flynn last month and the two rookies are all that’s left. While it isn’t exactly a Robert Griffin III/Kirk Cousins situation the upside is certainly going to be worth the watch. At this point neither can be perceived as viable Fantasy options.
