After a career night in which Denver Broncos’ running back Knowshon Moreno rushed for 224 yards on 37 carries, he was seen sporting crutches and a walking boot after the game. Moreno suffered an injury to his right ankle in overtime versus the New England Patriots. The severity of the injury is unknown at this time but the walking boot and crutches were likely precautionary till the team could get him back to Denver for further testing. We will probably know more some time today and then our resident Doctor, Ziad Dahdul, will fill us in on a timetable for recovery.
If Moreno were to miss any time it’s unclear exactly who would benefit the most. It would probably be Montee Ball but his fumbling issues are a concern. C.J. Anderson came in for some work after Ball was essentially benched. Anderson, another rookie, also fumbled but was able to recover it himself. It’s also possible that Ronnie Hillman makes the active roster again if Knowshon misses week 13.
