Fresh off his best season as a pro and a Super Bowl victory, Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate knows it’s his time to shop around. He will be a free agent after playing four seasons in Seattle, of which, he has increased his receptions and yardage totals each year. Last season Tate finished with 64 receptions for 898 yards. And that’s in an offense likes to pound the rock and not be too flashy in the air. He is scheduled to visit with the Lions tonight.
In Detroit, they are still looking for a viable #2 wideout to compliment super star Calvin Johnson. With Nate Burleson out and Ryan Broyles still on the mend from his various injuries, it is imperative to the Lions’ offense to get Matthew Stafford some help on the opposite side. If they were to land Tate, this would be a huge plus for the offense. Golden Tate is physical and can win most one-on-one match ups. He’s also got an excellent feel for returning punts, something Detroit is also looking for.
