Rays’ Matt Moore Leaves Game With Injury

While it could turn out to be nothing, Tampa Bay Rays’ left-handed starting pitcher Matt Moore has just left the game with an unknown injury to his throwing arm. The injury happened while delivering a pitch in the fifth inning to Norichika Aoki.

In obvious discomfort and pain, Joe Maddon and Paul Harker rushed to the mound and had a conference for a few minutes and then decided to pull Moore, replacing him with lefty Cesar Ramos. While this very well could be the skipper being extra careful, it is still notable.

Moore made a name for himself in 2011 when he struck out 210 batters in 155.0 innings while posting a 1.92 earned run average in their minor league system. He has struck out 337 batters in 342.2 innings during his brief span in the majors.
