Philadelphia Rookie Receiver Jordan Matthews Working With First Team

Philadelphia Eagles’ second round pick, receiver Jordan Matthews, has been spending time with the first team playing out of the slot at minicamp. During Philly’s OTA it was Brad Smith playing out of the slot for the first team, so it’s worth noting the change.

Matthews has been getting great reviews from the Philly reporters and is starting to get some notice amongst the more savvy fantasy football gurus. If he can solidify himself as the slot man to open the season, he could be worth owning in standard leagues as your third WR. Of course this is all speculation at this point but he should be on your radar toward the end of drafts.

Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper are locked in on the outside but don’t bite too early on Cooper. He had a nice season in 2013 but many are predicting him to come back down to Earth.

If during the preseason Matthews takes off and has a stellar game or two, he will no longer be the sleeper you were hoping to nab at the tail end. You might have to jump a round or two early if you believe in him. And so far, he’s proving to be the real deal.
