Rob Gronkowski recently stated at an event that he was going to play the entire season. While lots of players, of course, have that same sentiment it was likely considered doubtful for Gronk. He was expected to start training camp on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list because of his torn ACL/MCL from just 7 months prior. All that has changed now that the doctor’s have cleared him to resume football.

This is a great day for New England Patriots fans and for fantasy football. Without Gronkowski, there was no one to even come close to challenging Jimmy Graham heading into 2014. With Rob, hopefully healthy, he will contend to be the top tight end during the season. During drafts though, Graham will likely go first 99% of the time. That one percent will be to die-hard Pats fans wanting to stay true to their team.
Don’t expect the Patriots to rush him onto the field, they will likely take it easy but this clearance will give him ample time to be in football shape come week one. For now, pencil Gronk as the number two TE on the board.
