Week 12 DFS Blue Book: Giving Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving week everyone! It’s been a busy week for me. Tons of turkey, stuffing, gravy, and most importantly family time. With all the corny social media posts boasting of perfect lives that people are thankful for, I wanted to throw out a couple of thank yous.
Thanks to my FFLR guys. Adam and Taylor for hiring me and welcoming me into the fantasy football community.
Thanks to the fantasy football community for being a great group of people.
Thanks to you for clicking on my article and hopefully reading it.
And my wife for not killing me for spending so much time on this hobby of mine.
Now onto the Week 12 DFS Blue Book picks.
Tom Brady | QB | GPP
Tom Brady is my top GPP QB this week. In 4 of his 6 games this year, Brady has thrown for at least 3 TDs. I can’t see Tom Brady finishing below 28 points here and I would use him in 100% of my lineups if it weren’t for…
Drew Brees | QB | Cash
Drew Brees has hit or exceeded value in every home game this year. This week, he gets the Los Angeles Rams. On paper, this is a difficult matchup, as the Rams give up the 6th least DK points to QBs. But the Saints offer matchup problems for the Rams. Cooks and Thomas have advantages over the Rams outside CBs and they can also move Michael Thomas to the slot to take advantage of his size against Lamarcus Joyner. I expect a lot of points from Brees and will be using him in cash games.
Colin Kaepernick | QB | GPP
Colin Kaepernick keeps turning in solid fantasy performances. What is so great about Kap is his running ability provides a high floor while his team’s defensive deficiencies create a need to throw the ball a ton. Kap is my favorite value QB this week for those looking to save money at the position.
At RB there are a couple of super chalky plays. David Johnson should have a field day against a defense that struggles against pass-catching RBs. Jay Ajayi should also run for a mile against the Niners’ D. Use the Week 12 DFS Blue Book as a building block to get one or both of them into your lineups.
Thomas Rawls | RB | Cash
Thomas Rawls is going to be pushed back into a bell cow role this week with the injuries to C.J. Prosise and Troymaine Pope. With only Alex Collins to back him up, Rawls should see 3-down work. I think the Bucs could surprise some folks this week and make it a game but Rawls should have so much volume that he can hit value easily.
Chris Ivory | RB | Cash
If T.J. Yeldon is out, Chris Ivory becomes an interesting volume play. Last week, Ivory was 3rd on the team with 6 targets. If he is the only healthy RB against Buffalo, load him into your lineup for some salary relief.
Jeremy Hill | RB | GPP
Here is another RB who is going to be thrust into a bell cow role. He’s got a tough matchup but his second-best game of the year came against Denver. On top that, he’s reached double-digit fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 and will only see an increased workload. I thought about including Rex Burkhead but with such a small difference in the pricing between the two players, why not go with the RB who has 3 TD upside.
Duke Johnson | RB | GPP
Duke Johnson has been at his best when Josh McCown has been at the helm. This week, Josh McCown will be slinging the ball around, presumably down by 2 TDs. This bodes well for Johnson’s fantasy outlook.
Odell Beckham | WR | GPP
If I am considering OBJ this week, I don’t even hesitate to use him regardless of his matchup with Joe Haden. Haden has been back to himself this year but he doesn’t have the speed to hold up against OBJ. After only being targeted 5 times last week, I see a huge game for Beckham against the hapless Browns. OBJ is the Week 12 DFS Blue Book’s favorite high-priced WR.
Larry Fitzgerald | WR | Cash
Once again there are some health questions surrounding Cardinal WR which should leave Fitz with a huge target share. Over the past 2 weeks, Fitz is 3rd in the NFL in targets with 25. I love him this week against the Falcons, in what could be a shootout.
Brandin Cooks | WR | GPP
Brandin Cooks tends to dominate slower CBs. An example would be what he did to David Amerson and Sean Smith in Week 1. This week, he is facing similar CBs and will look to toast them in the same fashion.
Michael Thomas | WR | GPP
Michael Thomas’ price has finally crept higher but I’m still on him this week. I look for Thomas to get many of the RZ looks. Even with the increased price tag, you can easily stack Brees/Cooks/Thomas which is the Week 12 DFS Blue Book stack of the week.
Tyler Boyd | WR | Cash
After A.J. Green tragically went down last week, Boyd picked up some of the slack against a tough Bills Pass D. Last year at Pitt, Boyd was a one-man show, often being used at WR, QB, and RB in the same game. Anything to get the ball in his hands really. He has yet to show that kind of playmaking ability but perhaps with the increased responsibility, Boyd will be able to shine.
Malcolm Mitchell | WR | GPP
Here’s another rookie who finally broke out last week. Malcolm Mitchell gives the Patriots a different weapon to their offense, a legit deep threat. If Chris Hogan is out once again, I love Mitchell this week. The Week 12 DFS Blue Book recommends a Brady/Edelman/Mitchell stack.
Delanie Walker | TE | Cash
Delanie Walker in cash is automatic. The only thing that can stop Delanie Walker is Delanie Walker getting injured.
Vance McDonald | TE | GPP
The Niners’ offensive weapons are trash but Vance McDonald has been coming on strong as of late. Look for Kap and McDonald to build on the rapport this week and possibly connect for some garbage time magic.
Bills | DST | Cash
Blake Bortles in cold, shitty, Buffalo weather? That wobbly spiral isn’t going anywhere but back the other way.
Saints | DST | GPP
I love the Saints D this week. This is Jared Goff’s first away game, the Saints have been decent against the run as of late, and there is a stigma attached to them that will keep their ownership down. It isn’t out of the question to think Goff has a pick-6 in him this week and he certainly doesn’t look capable of putting many points on the board. The Week 12 DFS Blue Book highly recommends using the Saints D this week.
